Malware Removal



- If you do not have an antivirus installed.
- If you have an antivirus program or Security Suite that is expired.
Download one of the free antivirus programs listed below.
Avast! Home Edition
AVG Free Edition
AntiVir Personal


Important: Uninstall any old/outdated antivirus program(s), including Security Suites before upgrading or replacing with a new one.
Install the new antivirus and make sure it is updated.
Do a full system scan and remove or quarantine everything found.


Malware in Add/Remove Programs
1. Click on the Windows Start button and go to the Control Panel
2. In the Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
3. When the Add/Remove Programs window has fully populated.
4. Check for any unknown or suspicious looking programs.
- Do not uninstall anything you may be unsure of.

House Cleaning
Download CCleaner - Choose the Slim - No Toolbar version.

Caution: Only use CCleaners Registry feature if you are very familiar with the registry.
Always back up your registry before making any changes.


SUPERAntiSpyware
Download SUPERAntispyware Free Edition (SAS)
Double-click the icon on your desktop to run the installer.
When asked to Update the program definitions, click Yes
If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download and unzip them from here


Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM)

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM) to your desktop from either of these two links.

Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.


Dr. Web CureIt!

Download DrWeb CureIt

Dr. Web consists of two scans. An Express Scan of your PC and a full system scan.
Under Start the Express Scan Now Click OK to start.
This is a short scan that will scan the files currently running in memory.
If or when something is found, click the Yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it.
Back at the main window, select the Complete scan button.
Then to the right click the Green Arrow Start Scanning button.

Once complete, click Yes to all if it asks if you want to cure/move any file(s).
Important! Reboot your computer because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
